Breathwork is the deliberate slowing and lengthening of the breath to influence the nervous system. One minute of slow breathing can be enough to activate the parasympathetic system, lower tension and bring back calm. Breathe in calm, breathe out stress.

In practice

Try a simple cycle: inhale for 4 seconds, exhale for 6, for one minute. A longer exhale than inhale encourages calm.
